Ultrasound examination of small pelvis organs became quite popular in the therapy, surgery and gynecology in the recent years. Ultrasound offers unique quality of “seeing” uterus, tubes and ovary. This kind of examination is valuable because it is completely painless and non-invasive, i.e. it does not imply injection of any medicine or use of any instruments, and therefore it is absolutely safe.
Currently 2 types of ultrasound examinations are implemented in the gynecology: through the front abdominal wall and through the vagina.
· First is associated with some degree of discomfort connected with the necessity of full urinary bladder, but it gives good picture of small pelvis organs.
· Second (vaginal ultrasound) allows seeing organ structure in detail without any preliminary preparations.
Ultrasound is also successfully used by pregnancy in order to diagnose inborn fetus diseases and chromosome pathologies.
Ultrasound also helps to diagnose diseases in liver, kidneys, urinary bladder, mammary glands, thyroid gland and other organs and systems.
